asia’s leading design event returns november 28th to december 3rd, 2011 for another series of exhibitions, forums and programmes which explore the growing business that is the design industry. this year, business of design week’s (BODW) partner nation is germany.

europe’s economic powerhouse, germany has been the cradle for some of the most creative minds of last the two centuries. known for their technical precision, functional form and state of the art luxury, the country has contributed significantly to architecture, automobile design, typography and engineering. germany’s best design leaders will share their talent and knowledge with asia’s most creative in hong kong.

among those presenting at this year’s conference, are prominent names including opening speaker – the author of the ‘ten principles to good design’ – dieter rams, star architects ole scheeren (CCTV tower, beijing) and jurgen mayer h(metropol parasol, sevilla), typographer erik spiekermann, eco-design guru werner sobek, and new media godfather joachim sauter (art+com).

they will be joined by a number of other experts from around the world, including those from hong kong and china: anthony lo, a hong kong chinese who is leading the design department of renault in france; our closing speaker shigeru ban, japan’s architecture superstar; legendary italian furniture designer, antonio citterio, whose work with hermès was exhibited at milan design week 2011. bjarke ingels, a danish architect who has been involved in several significant projects in china; and jeff shi, creator and owner of dragonfly exclusive design boutiques.
