infiniti digital art gallery and showroom opening in stockport

on thursday, october 13th, 2011, infiniti luxury car manufacturers celebrated the opening of the first UK showroom — in stockport, near manchester, with the worldwide unveiling of ‘infiniti reveal gallery’ showcasing the six finalist works of the ‘infiniti digital art competition‘ the company hosted this summer in collaboration with designboom.

amidst a DJ set, a harvey nichols fashion catwalk, champagne and hors d’oeuvres, and presentations of infiniti cars, visitors explored the new centers, throughout which the winning competition designs were installed. information about each of the artists behind the works, as well as about the design and history of infiniti, were featured on mounted video panels throughout the showroom.

visitors to the galleries are invited to vote on their favourite piece using computerized voting stands on site, to determine

which designer receives the first prize fund of 10,000 euro. the ‘infiniti reveal gallery’ is open in stockport through october 18th;

interested readers can register for invitations to the upcoming events at infinitireveal.com. the jury for this first competition was composed of: – adrian newey, chief technical officer, RED BULL RACING – yeoh gh, creative director, SUPER NATURE DESIGN – birgit lohmann, co-founder and editor-in-chief, designboom – jean pierre diernaz, marketing director,  INFINITI europe, middle east, india, and africa. all digital artworks are viewable (although not votable) on infiniti’s competition results microsite and through designboom features.
