italian-singaporean design studio of lanzavecchia + wai (francesca lanzavecchia and hunn wai) developed
‘streamline – 75% mercedes benz SLS AMG’, a carpet commissioned for the mercedes benz home collection
and curated by italian magazine case da abitare. production of the carpet was done by high end italian rug
company nodus. wool fibers are hand-tufted by indian craftsmen to give the surface a three-dimensional effect.
the texture comes from lines referencing the aerodynamic testing done in wind tunnels.

the form is the top view of the mercedes benz SLS AMG model reduced to 75% of its original size.
the finished product measures 350 cm long and 150 cm wide (138 inches by 59 inches) making it
a good fit for domestic environments. the product was unveiled at meet design, where young emerging talent
got the opportunity to work with established companies and supporters.
