belgian company vervloet in collaboration with brussels-based quentin de coster design studio have developed ‘tibou’, a collection specifically intended to be used by children. rethinking the primary function of handles and knobs as being used to open a door or a drawer, the integrated piece also enables kids to use them as a coat rack. often when hanging a jacket or a bag on a door handle, the object loses its main function and becomes difficult to open. wanting to enable this dual functionality, all the elements of the ‘tibou’ collection incorporate a small hook on their front face. this integrated feature gives the child the opportunity to hang various items, without reducing the ability to easily open the joinery.
