the ‘morpholio project’ for iPad and iPhone is a portfolio service and network application and site for designers

the ‘morpholio project’ is an application for iPhone and iPad, cross-connected with the ‘mymorpholio‘ website, to streamline the sharing and critiquing of projects for designers, artists, and other collaborators.

currently in beta, the system was initially developed by a group of five architects and academics in collaboration with what is now nearly 200 contributors, in response to the question: ‘what would happen if you could merge processes of presentation, critique and collaboration into a single elastic platform?’

the ‘morpholio project’ lets users upload a portfolio, visualized as a collection of thumbnail images that can be easily changed. users may specify ‘co-creators’ who also have administrative access to certain projects.

the ‘pinup’ feature allows the public posting of these portfolios, viewable by all morpholio users. for more selective feedback, ‘crit’ offers a way for users to share and critique one another’s work privately or in small groups. invited viewers can comment on images with overlain text, while the application itself records the amount and type of viewing time.

‘the ‘morpholio project’ is first, and foremost an experiment in distributed intelligence,‘ explains co-creator mark collins. ‘by leveraging the ‘wisdom of crowds,’ every designer can see and understand how his or her work is experienced by others.’
