italian practice GEZA has recently completed the ‘headquarters + production complex’ an office and industrial facility for practic, an awning and deck company within the town of fagagna in the northern province of udine, italy. positioned along a major freeway, the low-profile structure evokes the essence of the agricultural landscape. the campus consists of a main and clear volume dedicated to the work environment and neighbored with the manufacturing plant whose footprint has been placed at a 15 degree angle to respond to the nearby roadway. break rooms, communication areas and private spaces along with gardens accommodate the daily interactions of the employees.
the elemental exterior is formed with alternating surfaces of glass and panels of black marble stone interchanged with dark cement. the south facade is protected with a cantilevered 80 meter long concrete beam creating a mediating corridor along the building’s perimeter which is sheltered by the floating shading device.
