the working philosophy of singapore furniture company d-bodhi is to reuse and recycle different raw materials into new furniture pieces fit for today’s eco-conscious consumers.

their 2012 ‘footprint’ collection, shown at the IFFS 2012, presents six new dynamic furniture groupings which introduce recycled shipping pallets, boat wood, iron and teak combinations into their material and design production. in addition, their popular ‘tubeline’ and ‘d-blue’ denim works have expanded with several new models.

d-bodhi is committed to bringing carbon neutral furniture to the market through their footprint program, helping customers lighten their carbon footprint on the planet. they create dynamic, award-winning contemporary furniture using a variety of recycled materials. their use of reclaimed wood to produce many of their designs, make each piece individual, distinguished by the blemishes inherent in their natural beauty, whereby every split, gap, scar and kink is embraced.

the core dresser of the ‘tubeline’ collection seems to float between galvanized steel pipes and a suspended solid wood top, whereby a mosaic pattern of hand nailed zinc plate covers this core structure.

the mosaic colorful wood from old boats is used to produce the ‘carbon’ collection. the modern cut squared off shapes, are each supported by an iron framework.

recycled pine wood pallets stand as the forms for which words and colors are silkscreened onto their smooth surfaces to form a range of storage cabinets. available in six colorways, the brushed iron legs and the drawer fronts are both set at an angle adding to the modern retro design.

‘dolly’ storage boxes

drawing on the look of shipping dollies and old wooden fruit crates ‘dolly’ storage boxes are made from weathered teak combined with brushed iron trim and exposed nails to achieve a vintage look.

international furniture fair singapore / ASEAN furniture show (IFFS/AFS) the international furniture fair singapore, held in conjunction with the ASEAN furniture show (IFFS/AFS), began in 1981 and has since come to be regarded by industry experts as asia’s most prestigious furniture trade show. IFFS/AFS provides an effective marketing platform for regional companies to venture into the global market. as a testimony to the quality of the show, IFFS/AFS is the first asian-based international furniture fair to be accepted as a member of the elite union des foires internationales, a paris-based international authority on trade fairs. in addition, it is the only furniture trade event in singapore to be awarded the ‘approved international fair’ status by the singapore tourism board. IFFS/AFS is set to become even more comprehensive for the furniture players, with the addition of the inaugural deco asia and hospitality asia developed to expand the scope of the show.
