italian lighting brand artemide presents new pieces by british designer ross lovegrove during milan design week 2012: ‘nebula’, a sculptural wall lighting piece; and ‘botanic rain’, a modularly pieced hanging wall curtain / partition.

enclosed in a circular painted aluminum LED ring, ‘nebula’ is generated from advanced parametric scripting. the undulating diffuser, sculpted from thermoplastic material, accentuates the organic forms as it captures the surrounding light. the versatile lamp can be mounted on the ceiling or the wall, alone or in clusters to create an installation.

using advanced crystal polymer, ‘botanic rain’ is a modular composition of clear leaf forms which are attached to create a transparent curtain. the light is emitted from the aluminum LED ceiling track onto the flexible system. the cascading elements are made of injection-moulded thermoplastic material.
