designboom met with french designer jean-marie massaud to discuss his recent collaboration with italian leather goods brand fabbrica pelletterie milano (FPM) who is continues its partnership with international designers for their ‘in the sign of movement’ collection. the most recent and third addition to the line of luggage is ‘globe’ has been conceived to improve volume capacity,durability and lightness. the design features dual fibre glass wheels which provide stability, in combination with the solidity of the material used and the linear shapes of the trolley’s overall form. ‘globe’ is made from 100 per cent pure polycarbonate, inside and out, which guarantees maximum shock resistance while being extremely lightweight. simple in its form, massaud has incorporated ribs which are meant to reinforce the volume of the pieces while also taking any scratches or abuse to keep the overall surface of ‘globe’ clean.

FPM presented the ‘travel in white’ editions of ‘in the sign of movement’, which offers massaud’s, along with previous collaborators stefano giovannoni’s and marcel wanders’ designs in a limited run of white versions.
