stuttgart-based practice coast office architecture (zlatko antolovic, alexander wendlik) have recently completed the ‘microsoft briefing center’ at microsoft’s office building in wallisellen, switzerland. central undulating furniture pieces define the space allowing for different communication platforms to happen in the product lounge. the adjacent black glass media wall gives employees the opportunity to show presentations using the company’s various types of technologies (microsoft kinect and microsoft surface technology) which are integrated into the face of the mill work. the surface of the partition has a graphic application to reflect and layer the media being transmitted throughout the area. functional programs such as a coat rack, kitchen, storage and catering are amalgamated and covered behind the barrier.

the perimeter of the center is contrasted with a gray curtain wall treatment to allow the area to be open or closed from the exterior environment, transforming the room’s mood for different events. at the far end of the center is where the meeting room is located. it is separated from the lounge with a glass partition with the same graphic motif as on the media wall, continuing the interior language throughout the space. to accommodate for larger meetings it is equipped with a projection and a large table which sits up to twenty people.
