‘naturalis’ is a new household appliance devoted to the production of homemade beauty care, removing the barrier between the cosmetics industry and DIY products. developed by paris-based eliumstudio for german company rowenta in collaboration with derma nutrition experts, the new domestic gadget allows one to control the composition of a range of cleansers (milks, peels, masks…), natural moisture retaining substances (day creams, body cream, lip cream…) and applications for nourishing the skin (hand cream, night cream, lip balm…).

‘naturalis’ is accompanied by a recipe book categorized into four key stages: cleansing, preparing, maintaining natural moisture and nourishing, and a care guide which includes advice about different skin types and routines to follow. the device’s simple design and implementation technique uses a ‘helical emulsion technology’ to prepare each of the formulas. the mixtures are vertically sucked up by the emulsifying tool, subject to high turbulence in order to create a stable medium. the flow of each liquid is created within the vessel offering a progressive homogenization of the ingredients, in order to achieve an optimal product texture. a cold program allows one to develop their own masks and peels while a hot program is available for the production of creams, milks and balms.
