‘the secret garden’ by zaha hadid for citco

marmomacc 2012, an international trade fair for stone design and technology, is featuring six large marble panels london-based architect zaha hadid has developed in collaboration with italian company citco. each one is a sculptural marble piece which plays with neutral tones along with three-dimensional and chiaroscuro effects. the light and dark backdrops offer intense visual effects created by the processes implemented in stone surface production.

these six new works follow the success of ‘the secret garden’ pavilion zaha hadid conceived for citco that debuted during milan design week 2012, in which the first series of designs were exhibited (see designboom’s coverage of the project here). citco’s stand at marmomacc will be an adaptation of this previous installation, offering a large front plaza to complete the booth enhanced by these new panels. it will provide a series of spatial experiences in which the spectator can interact with the integrated natural stone displays.
