badoo offices by za bor architects

moscow-based architectural studio za bor have developed the offices for badoo.com to combine the addition to the light-filled open space into a promiscuous layout designed for 122 workplaces. located alongside the glass walls around the perimeter of the building, the inner space is divided only by structural columns. due to the natural texture of concrete, the beams are covered with a transparent varnish.

the workplaces for staff are conceived according to the plan of the office units interaction; the more employees in contact the closer they sit. with an all-glass facade, the opportunity for natural light control is provided through two types of vertical blinds – weakening the light output by 15% and 100% respectively to create comfortable ambient conditions.

the main concept incorporates a series of meeting rooms holding specific themes such as a ‘night club’ division, which integrates 40 posters as decoration, or the ‘park’ area, with flooring imitates the grass with vegetation spanning across the wall.
