british fashion and design company eley kishimoto has collaborated with studio maclean on the interior renovation of a bakery in london. after the success of its first store, southerden’s owner, melanie southerden, invited jason maclean of studio maclean and mark eley of eley kishimoto to design and instigate the interior for her new move to bermondsey street.

the bakery is located in south of the river thames in central london
the scheme sees a run-down hairdressers transformed into a elegantly crafted patisserie store that pairs eley kishimoto’s floor-to-ceiling graphics with studio maclean’s technical lighting solutions. the entirety of the store has been clad with a distinctive black and yellow pattern that gives the appearance of artificial depth, while wall mounted timber units offer a hint to the delicacies on offer.

‘it was a pleasure to be trusted by mel southerden to transform her new patisserie store with a clearly defined vision‘, explained mark eley. ‘we have worked well with studio maclean over the years, and with restricted time and financial budget on this commission we have executed a feast for your eyes working a top to toe venice pattern installation.’
