photographer manuel alvarez diestro visualizes the anonymity of business travel in his series, ‘veiled landscapes‘. shot from the windows of hotel rooms in north and south america, europe, asia, and the middle east each cityscape is limited with thick, translucent curtains. work trips are a world often blurry and uncomfortable, associated with severe jet-lag, to the minute itineraries, and culture shock.

the decision to incorporate part of the room was made to experiment with various textures while simultaneously generating a more introspective approach to the setting. each location is viewed as a random, anonymous atmosphere, distanced from the spectator; much like a traveler on a short term trip
