during lukas avenas‘ fourth year studies, he had a workshop with italian yacht designer alessio liuni and lithuanian designer sarūnas slektavičius. with their help, he created the ‘rei river’ catamaran, designed to go from vilnius, through kaunas, to klaipėda. catamaran layouts are geometrically very stable boats and don’t need ballasts. therefore, they are lighter than a monohull and offers a shallower waterline which is ideal for rivers. traveling up to 70 km/h, the boat could comfortably carry 48 passengers plus the capitan, incorporates a transparent hull that allows everyone to experience 360 degree view of the river.

passengers are also able to see the view to the front of the boat and can immerse themselves in this unique trip. the group had no limits on how expensive the catamaran might become, but the main focus was to design unique construction for specific travel through lithuania.
