OLED BULB

OLED BULB by Timothée Mion from uk

designer's own words:

BULB takes advantage of OLED innovative properties by cutting and bending it in a unique way. The project displays the benefits of the technology by creating a familiar yet completely new and magical shape.

While Prototyping with paper and card, I was able to explore ways to create a 3D shape using only two-dimensional bend and cuts. The result of those exploration is then attached to the main body with 3 screws which connect the OLED to the power and brings this tension to the shape.

The idea of the project is to use OLED properties to its fullest to create a completely new way of experiencing light. The concept re-invents the light bulb and allows OLED technology to be applied to a wide range of lighting typology.
