claesson koivisto rune’s bouquet-shaped side table for OFFECCT
‘bouquet’ is a very flowery response to a rather dry brief that called for a small occasional table for iPad’s and coffee mugs.

founded in stockholm in 1995, claesson koivisto rune is a swedish architectural partnership run by mårten claesson, eero koivisto and ola rune with a multidisciplinary approach emphasizing on both architecture and design. ‘bouquet’ is a very flowery response to a rather dry brief that called for a small occasional table for iPad’s, coffee mugs, etc. the table is the second piece the studio has produced for swedish manufacturer OFFECCT and is presented at stockholm furniture fair 2017.

claesson koivisto rune’s starting point was floral, but not as a single flower but as a whole bouquet. the result is a sofa-side table with an organically-shaped, reflective foot, with three striving stems holding the flower that serves as the tabletop. the translucent bright red petals allow light to play with the piece inside any interior it is placed in. the table stands alone as a bouquet and when placed together they result in a flowering meadow. ‘bouquet’, although highly decorative, is certainly functional.

the table has been produced by swedish manufacturer OFFECCT

the design concept parted from the word floral

the table is composed of a translucent top and a mirrored base

three striving stems hold the table tops

alone, the table stands as a bouquet

when many of them are placed together, they turn into a meadow

the translucency of ‘bouquet’s’ top allows it to play with its surroundings
