the recently completed MAAT building by AL_A is the centerpiece of EDP foundation’s masterplan for an art campus that includes the repurposed central tejo power station. incorporating over 7,000 sq.m of public space and blending structure into landscape, an art gallery is designed to allow visitors to walk over, under and through the building that sits beneath a gently expressed arch. MAAT has been shortlisted for the 2017 EU mies van der rohe prize.
