sven cycles’ bespoke bicycle features a complete set of artisanal foraging equipment
the collaborators have created a unique bicycle that is designed and equipped for collecting and cooking a variety of wild food.
darron coppin of award-winning bicycle frame builders sven cycles in collaboration with broadcaster and food writer hugh fearnley-whittingstall and his executive group chef gill meller have come together to create ‘the forager’, a handmade, bespoke bicycle. the three creators are influenced by their shared love of foraging and the environment. pooling their individual expertise, the collaborators have created a unique bicycle that is designed and equipped for collecting and cooking a variety of wild food.

sven cycles‘ design is influenced by the classic british series 1 land rover. its ingenuity lies in being both a comprehensive foraging facility and a fully functional utility bicycle. the design features a dynamo hub that powers a USB charger and the bicycle’s lights, ensuring self-sufficiency in generating its own power supply. the front wheel, design by loop wheels, helps give the bike a smoother ride on rough ground.

the foraging equipment is completely portable and includes:
— a fire-pit BBQ
— upcycled pots and pans
— plates and utensils made from pine tree fibers
— stainless steel water bottle and thermos
— chopping board, made of recycled boat decking no less
— assorted opinel knives including a mushroom knife, sharpening stone, foraging hook
— detachable wicker basket
— hip flask
