referring to it as ‘lacktopia’ or, ‘lack table utopia’, the spanish studio used 330 IKEA lack tables to construct an infinite number of situations, from a grandiose pyramid structure, to configurations of smaller stands and any possible situation in between. when combined, the tables transform into small benches, stairs, ‘towers’ for company banners, a giant billboard or other, smaller scenarios. after the expo’s end the structure is being used as a meeting point for la nave, where citizens, businesses and a vibrant network of innovative professionals who seek to accelerate their ideas and projects to transform the city of madrid.
