spyce restaurant aims to offer an economic alternative to steeply priced premium cuisine. the project was the idea of four MIT engineering graduates who designed the kitchen-bots to to simultaneously prepare food in three minutes or less. the boston-based restuarant can serve up to 200 meals per hour costing around$7.50 each (approximately £5.60).

customers place their orders using a touch-screen device which orders a delivery system to collect ingredients before delivering them to the cylindrical robotic woks. the woks cook by constantly rotating pre-proportioned ingredients at 450 degrees fahrenheit using induction technology. their angled position allows customers to see their food being cooked before it is tipped and served onto their plate.
