alice potts uses sweat and urine to engineer new biological accessories

alice potts’ collection, ‘perspire,’ comprises sports equipment and fashion materials with crystallized objects, composed by the act of sweating. by utilizing a ‘unique materialization [process] of the individuals own biology,‘ potts bridges a visual representation of the unseen beauty of perspiration with a natural process to ‘create our own accessories.‘

while at the royal college of art, potts was able to create a process that paved the foundation for perspire. she believes that it is a collection that focuses on ‘finding the perfect balance between body, fashion and science‘ and highlights the importance of sweating as a natural process that ‘every human goes through.‘
concept taken that in the future our bodies will be able to secrete their own accessories
