WATCH: miki nemcek immortalizes iconic designs from the 1950s in colorful animation
'good(bye) design' is a reminder of how people slowly lose a relationship with good design, looking back at immortal design icons with an audiovisual experience.
prague-based 3D artist miki nemcek has created a short animation that explores iconic designs and colours from the 1950s. the title of the short exploration, good(bye) design, mixes retro-inspired products with playful accented colors or everyday objects, mainly of german manufacturer braun.

from retro keyboards, record players and sound systems, each design is explored through a journey of colour. the movie is driven by a track from dirty art club which acts as a perfect match with the rhythmical side of the concept.

‘the idea was born when I walked out of a museum amazed by a product design exhibition from around the 50s’, explains nemcek. ‘good(bye) design is a reminder of how people slowly lose a relationship with true good design’.
