designer builds a pavilion of old devices to hide from technology at barcelona design week
titled 'world. new domestic landscape', the shelter was built in the middle of the city to raise consciousness about the addiction we have to our devices.
after realizing the huge addiction our generation has with phones and screens and at the same time how badly we recycle electronics, designer and artist mau morgó decided to build a huge shelter with all the discarded devices he could find in the streets and dumpsters in one of barcelona’s neighborhoods. titled ‘world. new domestic landscape’, this shelter was built in the middle of the city during the barcelona design week, to raise consciousness about this issue. during a week, morgó collected computers, laptops and mobile phones, and, separating them into pieces, constructed this 5 x 5 x 4 meters shelter.

the installation is built with technology but used to escape from technology, because in the inside morgó covered all the walls with a special foil that blocked communication. inside the pavilion, there was absolutely no reception, this shelter protected the visitors from the abusive use of smartphones and also the radiation our devices create, which we have already proved is harmful to us.

this 5x5m shelter was constructed with discarded communication devices, gathered during one week
