canadian-born leanne shapton is an illustrator, author, art director and publisher based in new york city. having worked at a number of magazines during her career shapton is currently the art director of the new york times op-ed page. she is also the co-founder (with photographer jason fulford), of J&L books, an internationally-distributed not-for-profit imprint specializing in art and photography books.
