galerie lelong & co. announces the exhibition of seven monumental sculptures by jaume plensa at santiago calatrava’s city of arts and sciences in valencia, spain. each cast iron sculpture in the water comprises a large-scale portrait head of a woman respectively entitled silvia, isabella, laura asia, maria, minna, carla, and laurelle. each is presented with eyes closed and gaze directed inward. together, the arrangement encourages a tranquil moment that transforms the public space of the city of arts and sciences into a highly personal one.

the third edition of this exhibition of monumental sculptures by jaume plensa is brought by the hortensia herrero foundation. the group’s fundamental aim is to introduce to the public the artistic sensibility of one of the best sculptors in the world. the seven monumental sculptures presented by galerie lelong & co. express an intimate dialogue with the space that houses them, the city of arts and sciences, and which are a reflection of the recent work developed by this artist. the work will be shown from june 26 to november 3, 2019.
