UK born, vietnam based designer john reeves has been developing furniture for 5 years, learning traditional techniques working in local workshops and industry in asia.

during milan design week he launched a new collection called ‘cast aluminium series one’. the range of furniture is made from sand cast recycled aluminium, finished in a zinc plate, with various pieces also consisting of white oak slats finished with bees wax.

the making process involves creating hand carved wooden moulds, which are then sand cast in recycled aluminium.

the series will be displayed at the ICFF ( international contemporary furniture fair) in new york from may 16 -19, 2009.
