haus.me has been experimenting with fully autonomous, off-grid mobile homes since it’s founding in 2016. it has developed a patented composite polymer insulation that can be 3D-printed into a construction material for building walls. combined with the company’s six-panelled windows, the prefabricated units have the potential to save buyers thousands of dollars in annual energy costs.

the house doesn’t require an electric grid, propane, natural gas, firewood or any other fuel. it instead uses solar energy for heating, cooling and electricity, working in both hot and cold climates.

each model is outfitted with remote-controlled smart systems, high-tech appliances, and built-in furniture. there is also an air-to-water generator is hooked up to a purification system, as well as a bioactive sewage system for treating black water.

the design is available in three models — the 400-square-foot single-story home dubbed the mOne that starts at $199,999; the mTwo, an 800-square-foot house with two bedrooms that starts at $379,999; and the mFour, a 1,600-square-foot model spanning two floors with three bedrooms and two baths that starts at $1 million. customers can personalize the grid-connected base model to include off-grid technologies.

according to haus.me, construction permits and foundations are not needed for the smaller mone and mTwo units. the first haus.me unit, an autonomous mOne model, was delivered last month to a beta customer in ukraine.
