saguez & partners’ joyful posters are a declaration of love to life out of lockdown

this colorful collection of posters has been designed by saguez & partners with one important message: ‘there is nothing more valuable than life itself’. seizing the seriousness of the current health pandemic, the design agency has illustrated the safety measures that are crucial to end lockdown and bring us back to normality. however, rather than scare or forbid, the seven profound, joyful, and sometimes funny posters all made to encourage and celebrate life, even if it is with a face mask.

this poster is a nod to the song ‘le bal masqué’ sung in the 1980s by la compagnie créole, a popular french pop band from french guiana and the french west indies

the project began after a short phone call with designer olivier saguez, when talented illustrator marine belkebir took the lyrics from an alain souchon song that were going around in the designer’s head – and turned them into a collection of posters. ‘today also, it will take a lot of humor to try to live again, ‘masked’, to talk to each other again, to smile, to laugh… as we can no longer greet each other with a kiss or give a firm hand shake. we hope that the complainers, the birds of ill omen, the pessimists of life in general – will go away to let us find the pleasure of living together again and show our love of life’ – olivier saguez, designer, founding president of the agency saguez & partners.

designer’s bubble mask

since may 11, the posters have been handed out free-of-charge to the shop owners of saint-ouen-sur-seine – a town north of paris. they add a touch of style and vibrancy to the safety rules. serious in its content and powerful in its form, the bold graphic design mixed with the surprising tone have revitalized the shopping streets and the checkout lines. it is a token of attention and appreciation, in short, a hymn to life. the posters are free to download, print or post on instagram, and you can find them on the website of the agency here.
