designer's own words:

materials: shiny chrome for the handle and a carbon steel to indicate the key hole.

The handle plate would be too thin and the proportions of the plate were intended to be different than the usual by made it taller, to emphasize on the geometrical shape of the handle.

the standard dimension of the knob, key hole were adopted in the proposal.
