standard architecture curates southern california lifestyle along LA’s forest knoll drive

overlooking the landscape of southern california from the hills above the sunset strip, standard architecture’s ‘1471 forest knoll drive’ is a modern american farmhouse inspired by louis kahn’s kimbell art museum. the los angeles-based studio designs the home to express simple elements such as timeless wood, concrete, and stone to define the shape of three parallel gabled volumes, each of which houses different living spaces. the nearly 11,000 square foot home boasts 6-bedrooms and 9-bathrooms, towering walls of glass and thirty-foot ceilings, a zero-edge infinity pool, gym, and home theater, this collection of programming is further complemented by sweeping views of the city’s downtown together with the ocean beyond.
