designer's own words:

a severe geometry: 2 globes, 2 shafts, 2 round plates. an elementary object, so simple that it makes you think it has always been there. “2” handle echoes different imageries: the simple reliable mechanics of a gear shift lever, the tough look of a body piercing stud or the abstaction of molecular models.
