Skin and Bones by charles jones from usa
designer's own words:
the design of our door handle was inspired by the concept of skin and bones. we began this design by observing the interaction one has with a door handle. after studying the human hand, we decided to have the handle become one with the human hand in terms of composition. thus, the “bones” element is the underlying framework, and the “skin” element is the overlaying cover. the integration of both elements was approached by making the skin react to the framework either by carving in or protruding out. this approached allowed for two tactile experiences that were strategically placed to happen under the thumb and fingers. as for the form, it was ergonomically derived.
