caceres + tous has used the moderate slope of the site to arrange the layout of ‘house S’ and distribute its program within the two buildings. various voids in the form of open terraces, a patio, a central garden with an ancient tree, and a rooftop terrace connect the project’s interiors with the surrounding landscape. the swimming pool completes the series of outdoor spaces, and uses the full width of the house. additionally, both buildings benefit from floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors, which further enhance the connection to the outdoors.

the lower building of the two develops around a central courtyard where the kitchen, dining room, two lounges, bar area, and two guest bedrooms are located, while the basement encloses an underground cinema. the top building contains the three main bedrooms as well as a service area. the steel bridge connects the two buildings, while it’s sliding wooden screen allow natural wind to pass through while blocking the sun and rain.
