narodnyi architector (NRDN) has designed this wooden pavilion as a welcome spot for outdoor activities in the historical center of moscow. the pavilion blends into nature to become an integral part of bauman garden, a small public park, while an oak tree perforates the wooden structure and merges with its architecture. all images by arseny rossikhin

narodnyi architector’s project utilizes a shallow foundation without disturbing the ecosystem, while the streamline-shaped pavilion harmonizes seamlessly with the extended scenery. one of the oak trees growing in this area penetrates the roof and becomes part of its planning. headlights are provided to improve illumination for the evening scenarios, while the building’s construction allows it to be transformed into a heated winter pavilion.

the architects sought to create a tranquil space for relaxation with yoga & similar activities spots integrating within the surrounding historical landscape. situated outside the busy garden ring road, bauman garden is a small and cozy public park that unites several plots of former aristocratic mansions and at the same time it is a well-known refuge from bustling moscow city life. park features several important monuments, such as the xviii-century grotto and mansion. all-year-round families with kids visit the park, as it contains several playgrounds, open-air theatre, volleyball & basketball pitches.
