BYTR architects: greenspotlight
greenspotlight is a green public light in which living plants have been woven into a frame to form the shade. there is also a ring of integrated planters around the bottom of the shade - combining greenery and street lighting into one integrated design.

along the jan van lieshoutstraat in eindhoven, a mainly pedestrian street rotterdam-based BYTR architects suggested the public space be cleared of lamp posts and planters which were forming obstacles. as a replacement they have designed greenspotlight, a green public light in which living plants have been woven into a frame to form the shade. there is also a ring of integrated planters around the bottom of the shade – combining greenery and street lighting into one integrated design.
the project is part of a larger commission called greenspots eindhoven, in which the city’s municipal council asked BYTR to look for opportunities to realize green projects in the city.
