positioned along a beachfront site along south africa’s plettenberg bay, is ‘plett 6541 + 2 ‘ a six bedroom residence by cape town-based practice SAOTA. rolling dunes of indigenous vegetation including a milkwood thicket buffer the dwelling from the water. the natural fynboswas brought all the way to the structure to ensure the plantings were not disturbed. incoming from the northeast, cooling breezes approach the oceanside elevation, forming an ideal location for a terrace with views to the water.

the home features running glass windows to stretch along the length of the outdoor spaces. inside, an open plan further connects each interior room with the outdoor scenery. oriented perpendicularly to the coastline, a lap pool runs along the side of the structure. rectilinear forms and a linear canopy stretches over the pool to protect from strong daylight.
