‘nine-o collection’ by ettore sottsass

in 2007, ettore sottsass redesigned the famous ‘navy chair of emeco for work spaces and home offices. sottsass was the first designer who took these chairs out of their typical environments – navy ships, prisons, hospitals – and used them frequently in his interior design projects. ‘navy’ is lightweight, corrosion resistant, maintenance free and is made in emeco’s 77 step process. through sottsass, sir terence conran, frank gehry, sir norman foster and philippe starck discovered the emeco chairs, creating a major resurgence of the historic brand in the 1990’s.
