‘CL:OC’ is a kintetic installation in which twenty-eight motors power a series of hanging fluorescent tubes that dance vertically in the air, arranging themselves to express the time via a display of digital numbers. created by german design collective GROSSE 8 (gerrit kress, edgar martinez, stephan müller), the functional sculpture sees the lighting modules form abstract linear visuals as they transition each minute to change the display. the large-scale work is making its debut as part of the passegen off-site program of interior design week cologne which runs concurrently with imm cologne.
