‘GRUPPENAUSSTELLUNG’ by Hauser & Wirth

From June 3rd, 2023, to January 1st, 2024, contemporary and modern art gallery Hauser & Wirth celebrates its Swiss heritage with ‘GRUPPENAUSSTELLUNG,’ a playful presentation of over 20 artists, including Jenny Holzer, Isa Genzken, Richard Jackson, Paul McCarthy, Pipilotti Rist, Cindy Sherman, and many more. 

Inspired by the traditional Kunsthalle concept, the exhibition explores contemporary issues through a diverse selection of tough-provoking artworks, catering to a wide range of audiences. Spanning five galleries in Somerset, Southwest England, outdoor sculpture displays, and collaborative events which will unfold over the course of seven months, visitors to GRUPPENAUSSTELLUNG have the opportunity to immerse themselves in captivating installations, solo presentations, and iconic video works.

a platform for immersive discovery and interaction

GRUPPENAUSSTELLUNG, presented by Hauser & Wirth (find more here), offers an optimized platform for immersive discovery and interaction. Attendees can expect to encounter mesmerizing neon installations, intricate suspended sculptures, vibrant posters, and thought-provoking video exhibits.

At Hauser & Wirth Somerset, artists play a central role in cultivating an experimental ethos that encourages new connections and inclusive art experiences. The exhibition showcases renowned artists like Martin Creed, Rashid Johnson, and Pipilotti Rist, many of whom have participated in the gallery’s longstanding residency program in Bruton. Living and working in this vibrant community, these artists draw inspiration from Durslade Farm and the picturesque Somerset landscape. As part of the immersive experience, visitors will also encounter a series of captivating exhibition posters created by the current artist-in-residence, Allison Katz. Katz’s playful approach to designing posters explores the realms of typography, language, and graphics, while delving into profound themes such as consumption, desire, and memory.
