5 sólidos unveil Casa Flectō in cerrovento, colombia

Located in a mountainous area of Cerrovento, Colombia, Casa Flectō by 5 sólidos is composed of discontinuous and asymmetrical masses whose purpose is to convey the importance of the four materials that make it up: concrete, metal, glass, and light.

The private house is designed to merge sculptural expression and functionality, creating a living environment that communicates directly with the immediate environment through linear and curved spatial elements. The project arranges a multitude of loose volumes that give the appearance of randomness, but when reflected, become an organized whole. Conceptually, the house establishes a dialog between physical entities and abstract atmospheres while appealing to the senses of its inhabitants.

Casa Flectō by 5 sólidos (find more here) has been carefully designed to create a fascinating living environment, where materiality and natural and artificial light are prominent. The main element of the residence is concrete, which serves as a structural frame that supports the space without losing the sense of lightness enhanced by its uninterrupted surfaces and curves. The concrete becomes a backdrop for reflected images and establishes itself as a scenographic constant in the space. Against the concrete background, colorful furniture, accessories and lighting highlight certain spaces of the house and emphasize moments worth contemplating.

The elements that complete the space are not designed only for their beauty or plastic expression; each one fits perfectly into the space it occupies. As an example, the spiral staircase is carefully positioned to be highlighted by shadows, straight lines, and the light that falls through the skylight above it. This relationship between the objects, the space and the calculated light runs through the entire interior of the home

The glass is available in two formats: U-glass and panels. The panels, whether smooth or folded, open the house to its surroundings, blurring spatial boundaries and giving it movement and dynamism. The U-glass elements, on the other hand, eliminate clear images and provide privacy. The metal serves as a second skin for the most intimate area of the house, transforming it into a hermetic volume that overlays the L-shaped first floor. On the other hand, another arrangement of this material connects the two floors, demonstrating its ability to be organic and restless.

The house is in turn a walk-in sculpture, a series of moments connected by light, a story told through its materials. Casa Flectō bends in its reflections and folds in front of the angles that open up as you walk through it.
