sao paulo international architectural biennial at the ‘cicillo matarazzo pavilion’ by oscar niemayer, 1951

the seventh annual sao paulo international architectural biennial took place in the ‘cicillo matarazzo pavilion’ in ibirapuera park designed by brazilian architect oscar niemayer in 1951. the occasion also marked niemayer’s 100th birthday. the building is a showcase of neimayer’s modernist vision.

the exhibition featured over 1000 projects and around 300 models. the work of 2006 pritzker prize winner, paulo mendes da rocha, was also on show. he was the first brazilian to win the pritzker since niemayer. designboom
