french architecture studio A6A has constructed h-eva, a a self-contained and movable prefab cabin that combines modern comfort and traditional materials. located in ustaritz, southwest france, the 20 sqm residence is built entirely out of wood, using local species of controlled origins such as douglas fir, which has been burnt to protect it from insects and the weather.

A6A has packed all essential needs into the 20 sqm residence, which includes a kitchen, a dining/living room, a bathroom, and two beds. created as a spatial experience that connects daily life to the outdoors, the transportable h-eva touches the earth subtly, with as little impact as possible, leaving the land reversible to use after it’s gone. the independent structure is assembled off-site in the workshop, while it’s douglas fir shell is also prefabricate, which allows a better quality of construction. after it’s put together, h-eva can be brought to the desired destination and installed using a crane.
