the ‘montreux jazz heritage lab’ is an architectural module developed by the alice epfl and ecal lab used to present 45 years of jazz history in a sensory-stimulating environment. made up of vertical wooden sections, the capsule’s wall hinges open revealing the cross section designed for the perfect viewing both visually and acoustically, thanks in part to the collaboration with ‘lema’ at the epfl. micro-perforated screens hide speakers without impeding the sound quality, similarly glass along the projected wall allows the transmittance of light. inside, the user finds themselves enveloped in a precisely engineered vessel that immerses them in the world of jazz music, all controlled by an interactive pad in front of the seat.
