alison brooks architects plans terra cotta 'cadence' residences for king's cross, london

an urban landmark set to open in late february 2020, the alison brooks architects-designed ‘cadence’ will introduce 103 private residences to london’s re-energized king’s cross neighborhood. prominently positioned at the top of lewis cubitt park, the tower’s distinctive terra cotta facade and dramatic arches will introduce a counterpoint to the nearby coal drops yard. its design and naming celebrate the electric ‘rhythms’ of the area, with bold and playful arches that realize the emerging and historic contexts of its surroundings.

designed by alison brooks architects, a contemporary colonnade at the base of the building and a striking crest at the top, forms a welcoming destination from afar. as developer argent LLP’s residential pipeline moves into the final phases, cadence represents one of the last opportunities for purchasers to buy in king’s cross and will form the keystone of the vibrant neighborhood. a large colonnaded courtyard with a tranquillity water feature sits at the heart of the scheme. here residents can escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse themselves in a quiet sanctuary — a true urban oasis — where the calming curves of the enveloping arches reflect on the water.

the development offers panoramic corner apartments, floor-to-ceiling windows and private recessed balconies which generate south-facing vistas across king’s cross and beyond. residents will benefit from access to a number of roof terraces, designed to extend the apartments to the outdoors, as well as a flexible studio space on the tenth level. the project offers a collection of 103 studio, one, two, and three bedroom apartments. 51 different spatial configurations for the apartments have been carefully crafted to provide flexible living to suit every individual with interior design led by conran and partners. in addition, 60 units will be managed by pocket living, offering design-led rental homes for middle-earning local workers who positively contribute to their community.
