in terriciola, italy, and-studio architects has completed ‘podere la chiesa’ winery clad in concrete façades with irregular circular holes. the construction integrates into the surrounding landscape, while it adds a powerful visual experience into the heart of tuscany, where the vineyards fill the hills with various colors and textures.and-studio punctures irregular holes into the concrete façade of this tuscan winery

the winery by and-studio architects is wrapped in a single material – reinforced concrete pigmented with brown tones that recall the colors of earth and grape must. meanwhile, the multi-shaped circular holes on the façades reproduce the bunches of grapes and create a strict connection between the interiors and the landscape, which becomes an active part of the project itself.and-studio punctures irregular holes into the concrete façade of this tuscan winery

the winery takes form as a symbolic structure; the barrique cellar reminds the sacredness of a church, whilst the fermentation room stands as a modern productive site. ‘podere la chiesa’ is settled on a slight slope, within an amphitheater-shaped area, in a point where the panorama can be perceived, and the building becomes the landmark of the scenery.and-studio punctures irregular holes into the concrete façade of this tuscan winery

every circle functions as a frame with constantly changing perspectives to the outside. it is a way for the sun to penetrate the wall and create an unlimited number of light effects. meanwhile, all these elements provide the structure with a great visual and exploratory experience.and-studio punctures irregular holes into the concrete façade of this tuscan wineryand-studio punctures holes into concrete winery façade in italyand-studio punctures irregular holes into the concrete façade of this tuscan wineryand-studio punctures irregular holes into the concrete façade of this tuscan wineryand-studio punctures irregular holes into the concrete façade of this tuscan wineryand-studio punctures irregular holes into the concrete façade of this tuscan wineryand-studio punctures irregular holes into the concrete façade of this tuscan wineryand-studio punctures irregular holes into the concrete façade of this tuscan wineryand-studio punctures irregular holes into the concrete façade of this tuscan winery
