stuttgart-based studio andOFFICE architects have designed ‘landyM’, a single family home in lörrach, germany. the building combines compact, efficiently organized living spaces and functions. soft zoning instead of sharp borders maximize the main living space as well as provide a strong integration of the exterior terrace: a wooden deck partly enclosed by the home and garden. it generates an open morning terrace faced to the southeast while the main terrace towards the southwest is covered by the cantilevering upper floor. the facade loop, a horizontal extension of the griege-colored plaster surfaces made of gravel, surrounds the terraces in order to connect it with the interior spaces and to the roof garden with its uninterrupted view towards the black forest and vogese.
