located in bangkok, the ‘flower cage house’ by anonym studio is a former 60 square meters housing estate, with an interior area of 300 square meters. recently, the owner had wished to renovate the property that was over ten years old — in order to provide a space that suits once’s needs to its full capacity.

from home survey, anonym has proposed to adjust the interior space, bringing in natural light and adding the multipurpose area over the original garage. for the ground floor, at the main living area, the architects have taken down most of  the solid wall and introduced steel frame glazing panels. on the other hand, the main entrance has been adjusted to the pace of the users — making it a more interesting experience. the architects have also extended the extra space behind the house to meet the demands of increased usage and pull in more natural light into the house without bringing in the heat. indeed, since the house is located on the northern side, exrta windows have been added to increase ventilation. furthermore, the garage area is improved by removing the old pole structure, then reconstructing a new steel building over to offer a multipurpose area on the second floor — which can be connected to the master bedroom.

at ground floor, the area has been refreshed by creating fish ponds where iron stairs – right above – lead to the multi-purpose zone. the upstairs interior is collapsed and transformed into a penthouse – becoming a truly a private residence consisting of a master bedroom, living area, dressing room and connected bathroom. finally, olive tree pots add some ‘tenderness’ to the overall scheme and are specifically designed by ceramic artists; these offer a  symbol of freedom, placed within the entire frame of 102 trees to enhance the uniqueness of this house.
