apple has confirmed that the store will soon open its doors at marina bay sands, marking it the company’s first floating outlet. ‘we will soon open the doors to our new store by the bay,’ notes the company’s statement. ‘apple marina bay sands will be at the heart of creativity, a place we’ve made for you to capture your ideas and passions.’

recent photos on instagram unveil the store’s dome-shaped exterior, complete with a holographic pattern at the bottom half of the sphere. at night, its colors appear to glow, transforming the store into a shiny lantern. from the images, access to the interior seems to be both overground, through a bridge at the marina bay waterfront, as well as underwater, through a passage in the mall.
